Manifest Justice Law Corporation is a trauma-responsive employment law firm for people who have experienced interpersonal or identity-based violence at work. We help survivors successfully transition into a new era, with dignity, by holding workplace predators and predator-protectors accountable.
At Manifest Justice Law Corporation, we understand how workplace-based violations are incredibly intersectional and context-specific in nature. Having harmful experiences routinely dismissed can lead to questioning reality and doubting yourself. Speaking out against workplaces and leaders that normalize abuse can feel impossible, lonely, and, catastrophic. There are multiple socio-psychological complexities involved in speaking truth to power — especially because perpetrators are often well-known, charismatic, and highly admired community members.
You are not alone. We are in your corner. Manifest Justice Law Corporation was founded by an attorney who has been a plaintiff in an employment lawsuit. Carlie is personally aware of how life-altering it can be to experience abuse at work. This is why Manifest Justice Law Corporation was intentionally designed to be a client-centered and trauma-conscious law firm. One example of the unique ways we work with clients is through Individualized Empowerment Plans, which will map out what safety and recovery looks like for you throughout — and extending beyond the conclusion of — your legal matter. At MJLC, we begin manifesting justice on day one. We nurture trusting and transparent professional relationships with our clients by providing top-tier legal support, seeking feedback routinely, having candid conversations, recognizing clients as experts on their matter, educating clients on their legal rights and options, and empowering clients to be the boss of their next chapter.
We believe you.
Your story is our fight.
Together we manifest justice.

Carlie Jones
Managing Attorney
There are many reasons I dedicated my career to plaintiff-facing employment law. As a first generation lawyer, I grew up watching individuals and families in my community overcome the every day adversities that occur as a result of targeted financial disenfranchisement. It was a formative experience to watch my father, an independent business owner, be turned away from opportunities and have his earnings withheld because of the color of his skin. It was an equally formative experience when my mother, after being diagnosed with a chronic medical condition and permanent disability, was repeatedly discriminatorily phased out of her career. These types of adverse community and familial experiences taught me that those who go against the status quo, speak truth to power, and stand up for others typically become the targets for retaliation.
By the time I enrolled University of California, Berkeley, I found the epidemic of mistreating workers to be unbearable. Working full-time in various service industry, non-profit, and caretaking jobs throughout college taught me that an unreasonable level of obedience, compliance, and silence are expected in nearly every workplace and industry. Speaking up about abuses of power and injustice I saw as a young adult, combined with experiences from my upbringing, inspired me to dedicate my career to helping others achieve financial freedom from targeted oppression.
Mackenzie & Jada Potato
Meet our office facility dogs! Mackenzie Rigby Jones (“Mac”), is a five-year-old chocolate Labrador who is trained to provide reassurance and remain at a person’s side during difficult interviews, depositions, and court proceedings. Spending her upbringing and initial training years attending law school, Mackenzie remains a quiet dog with a large, loving presence. Jada Potato Jones (“Potato”), is a two-year-old multicolored Labrador mix who loves to cuddle. She is basically Mackenzie’s eager understudy who is more than happy to step in when Mac is on break. Jada provides comfort by completely collapsing her weight onto the arms and legs of our most distressed clients.
The goal of bringing dogs into our practice was to assist victims in coping with trauma and to help make it easier to go through the justice system, a practice increasingly accepted across the state and country. For over a year these dogs have been trained by professional service dog instructors at All Stage Canine Development, an award-winning Sacramento organization. These instructors provide continued training to ensure the dogs are fresh and ready to show up for you. Mackenzie and Jada are both comfortable being handled by “new” people, in any emotional state, and providing comfort.
Do not wait for answers, apologies, or accountability. Freedom is possible and in progress.
